Saare Paat on the Estonian island of Saaremaa has been building complete boats for Finngulf for around ten years and now wants to emancipate itself. With the Saare 41, they are launching a dignified centre-cockpit yacht onto the market. It celebrated its international premiere at the hanseboot, where it attracted a lot of attention.
YACHT had the opportunity to test the prototype before the show in Tallinn and to visit the shipyard.
The rather modern hull and the striking structure of Johan-Peter Stråhlmann's design are striking, giving the design a high degree of visual independence. Even more surprising are the agile sailing characteristics. In fact, the Saare 41 carries plenty of sail for its concept of a long-distance cruising owner's yacht, and is a joy to sail even at 3 Beaufort. A thoroughly functional deck layout with well-dimensioned fittings and winches as well as a high standard of equipment round off the sailing pleasure.
Below deck, the ship has the typical layout of a centre-cockpit yacht with the galley in the passageway aft and the large owner's cabin with island bed. The interior is restrainedly modern and surprises with a generous amount of storage space. Future owners can have their individual wishes realised to a certain extent.
